GD&T is a symbolic language based on established international standardization, regulations and applicable standards, such as ISO 1101: 2017, ISO 8015: 2011 and ASME Y14.5: 2009.
It is now the necessary tool used for the geometric definition of mechanical structures and seamless communication on issues related to the interpretation of mechanical drawings.
The GD&T language is characterized by clarity and completeness as it uses specific symbols in such a way as to eliminate any room for misinterpretation. permissible deviations of dimensions and geometry.
At the same time, with the use of the GD&T language, the Production and Quality Control department is informed immediately and without error margins about the degree of accuracy required during the construction and inspection of each feature of the component.
GD&T is used for:
I) The definition of the nominal (theoretically perfect) geometry of the components and assemblies.
II) Determining the permissible deviation of the shape and size of individual characteristics.
III) Determining the permissible deviation of position and orientation between the characteristics. of understanding tolerances.
At the beginning of the seminar, reference is made to the basic elements that compose a mechanical design. Then, in addition to learning the symbols, terminology and rules of Geometric Tolerances as they are specified in current international standards, special emphasis is placed on understanding the structure, philosophy and proper application of the GD&T system.
For this purpose, the seminars include extensive practical training of the participants, with examples from the understanding and interpretation of projects either from the international literature or from real projects that the participants have and use in their daily life. The lecturer of the GD&T seminars is Mr. George Kaisarlis Dr. NTUA Mechanical Engineer, with twenty years of experience in Dimensional and Geometric precision of mechanical constructions, in Reverse Design and in the use of CMM Coordinate Measuring Machines.
Dr. Kaisarlis has been conducting GD&T seminars abroad with great success for many years.
The seminars:
– Funded by LAEK (0.45%)
– They are addressed to all parts of your business but mainly to Design, Quality Control and Production
– They are carried out in small sections
– They can be held either at the headquarters of our company in Athens or at the headquarters of your business.

COMMENTS FROM PARTICIPANTS
“The design of quality and functional components and assemblies requires the application of the GD&T standard at a theoretical and practical level.
QCONTROL GD&T seminar gave us the opportunity to understand the modern ways of geometric determination and dimensional control.
The rapporteur Dr. George Kaisarlis methodically and simply analyzed our philosophy and the correct way of applying the GD&T system in the design and control of mechanical structures. ”

“The continuous upgrade of the quality control of our company is a permanent strategy for us. In addition to the availability of the most modern equipment, we give special importance to the development of human resources.
The GD&T seminars organized by QCONTROL, fit perfectly into our philosophy. The seminars comprehensively analyze all applicable standards and place particular emphasis on measurement methods during quality control and the avoidance of design errors.
The speaker Mr. Kaisarlis is a special teacher. He managed in a simple and understandable way, with many examples and focusing on our applications, to cover the subject in the best possible way. ”
